Inaugural Gala Dinner

Ready for guests

Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club was the perfect setting for our Inaugural Gala Dinner on the 24th October 2014. Guests arrived on the balcony overlooking Freshwater Bay and were greeted with a glass of French champagne, Veuve D'Argent Brut.

As club member and Co-Founder, Mark Rose introduced the evening and welcomed guests as they were seated.

We were fortunate to have some incredibly talented music students from St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls sing beautifully for us, led by Director of Music, Mr Tim Chapman. An exceptional performance, which had guests clapping in appreciation at the end of each session.

The degustation menu prepared by Chef was exceptional, starting with caramelised tiger prawn tails in crisp noodle nest paired with a 2010 Streicker Sauvignon Blanc Semillon. Second course was duck and chicken roulade with pistatchio crust and pumpkin puree paired with Angove Nine Vines Grenache Shiraz Rose 2013. Watermelon gazpacho cleared the palate before we were treated to Linley Valley pork rib-eye, apple & calvados sauce, roast chat potatoes paired with Stella Bella Cabernet Merlot 2012. The meal was rounded off with the most delicious white chocolate brΓ»lΓ©e and a glass of Terrazas de los Andes Reserva Malbec 2011.

Our guest speaker for the night was Eloise Thomas. Eloise shared her story of her high-risk pregnancy and the birth of Charlie, born with Tracheo Oesophageal Fistula (TOF). Thankyou to Eloise for taking the courage to share an incredibly traumatic period in her life. You can hear her speech by clicking the arrow.

Bronwyn Rose, Co-Founder and Chairperson shared the progress Tiny Sparks WA has already made within the WA community and our vision for the future. It was wonderful to see guests 'get' what we are about.
