Father's Day 2017

Thanks to the support of our community we were able to distribute 210 gifts across 20 neonatal units state wide for Father's Day.  We know from the feedback we have received over the past 4 years that these special occasion gifts really go make a difference to a parents connection with their baby in the neonatal unit.

We designed cards especially for our neonate Dads so they can treasure their baby's tiny footprints created with love by their neonatal nurses. We also included a small gift to let them know that they are not alone, and the Tiny Sparks WA community is here to support them and their family.

Mother's Day 2017

Mother's Day is such a special day for women everywhere.  It is an acknowledgement of the amazing role women play in their families as a Mother.  For some they will be spending this special day in hospital alongside their 'tiny spark'.  To bring some joy to what is no doubt a difficult time we have sent out some 200 gifts state wide, for those families spending Mother's Day in a neonatal unit.  Each gift includes a beautiful card with room for the neonatal nurses to stamp babies hand and foot prints and also some super cute tiny baby feet cookie cutters.  For many of these Mum's it will be their very first Mother's Day and we really hope they can treasure their gift for years to come.

Happy Mother's Day to all Mum's from the team at Tiny Sparks WA.

Christmas 2015

Each year approximately 200 babies around Western Australia spend their very first Christmas in a neonatal intensive care unit or special care nursery.  Some of them have not yet met their brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunties, uncles or the rest of their families.  This can be a very challenging time!

This year, with your help and support, we would like to give every baby a special Christmas ornament that can be treasured by their family for many years to come.  This is in addition to the Christmas Quilts donated by hundreds of volunteers who have spent their time sewing over the past couple of months.  Thankyou so much!

We have partnered with Foote and Flame to design a unique and special ornament.  Their support by donation of time, product and design is to be commended.  I'm sure they would welcome a 'Like' on their Facebook page as a show of thanks.

Father's Day 2015

Father's Day 2015 saw the delivery of 160 gifts to WA's five largest neonatal units, including King Edward Memorial Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital, Joondalup Health Campus and St John of God Hospital Subiaco.

We designed cards especially for our neonate Dads so they can treasure their baby's tiny footprints created with love by their neonatal nurses. We also included a small token present to let them know that they are not alone, and the Tiny Sparks WA community is here to support them and their family.

Mother's Day 2015

Sunday 10th May 2015 is Mother's Day in Australia. A day we recognise all our wonderful Mums and acknowledge all things that make them special.

We give special thoughts to those Mums who may be experiencing their first Mother's Day sitting by their babies crib in a neonatal unit, those Mums who are torn between their children at home and their sick baby in a neonatal intensive care unit or special care unit, those Mums who will never get to hold their babies in their arms.

This year, Tiny Sparks WA has provided gifts to mothers with babies in all the major neonatal units across Western Australia including King Edward Memorial Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital Unit, Fiona Stanley Hospital, St John of God Subiaco and Joondalup Hospital.

This gift includes a special card so that the neonatal nurses can create a footprint for the Mums, and a cute cookie cutter shaped into babies feet.

We hope Mums currently visiting their babies in neonatal units know that we are thinking them on this special day.

A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take
